Appliqué + Leather Combo
My favorite holiday outfit idea for a casual day out would be the combination of appliqué and leather. I find that it’s the proper balance of bling without being extra. It’s also simple and effortless. Just throw on an appliqué sweater, a pair of leather pants and you’re good to go! There’s so many options for leather pants too – from faux to vegan and everything in between!
Glitter and glam is pretty big this season. But, if you’re usually timid in style and don’t like to dress glitzy – this is your chance! It’s the holidays! Up the spirit and festivities by wearing a little glitter or sequined dress! I mean, why not?! Have some fun!
Velvet on Top
Velvet is a nice texture to add to any outfit. You can wear a classic outfit and it’ll be the nice icing on top. It’s subtle, but perfect. If you want to dress it up more and take it up a notch, pair some pretty baubles and you’re good to go!
Cozy up in Fur
Can I even begin to tell you how big the fur trend is this season? You’ll be seeing it left and right! Don’t worry, most are just faux fur! However, it definitely elevates a simple outfit to a whole other level! You can easily pair a monochrome outfit and just embellish with a fur jacket or scarf and you’re good to go! If you’re not usually into wearing fur, definitely try it for the holidays! And who knows, maybe you’ll be hooked!
Play with Prints, Colors & Metallics
When in doubt. Play with these options. Holidays are perfect for plaid, especially red plaid. If you’re going on a casual brunch date, red plaid is a good idea. Wearing a pop of festive color, like shades of red or green against neutrals like black, white, or nude is also a simple outfit save. Metallics against neutrals will work in the same way. Bring out everything metallic gold or silver you have and you can easily dress up an outfit!
Well I hope you all found some inspiration! Enjoy the holidays! Leave a comment and let me know which was your favorite trend or what you’re wearing for the holidays!
For reference, I am 5 feet 2 inches. I typically wear XS/S or 0-4 for apparel and 6.5-7.5 for shoes.
