To my dearest:
FIRST OFF! ALERT! ALERT! $150 worth of GIVEAWAY! Read on to find out more!
Today, I’m going to be talking about something super duper important – good ol’ skincare! It’s the most important part of every beauty routine. They say, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” so I strongly believe a natural face without make up is beautiful in it’s own manner. Many times, make up just enhances what we already possess and covers the tiny blemishes we may have. However, if you don’t take care of your natural skin, no amount of make up would help enhance it! That’s precisely why skincare is so important.
I have yet to share my skincare regiment with you all, but in short, it consists of: cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing. My skin is combination type skin – neither too dry or too oily. It’s also semi-sensitive so I’m extremely careful with what I put on my face. I usually opt. for all natural products that are non-toxic, parabens and sulfates free, and if it’s fragrance free – even better! I have a stash of skincare products that I rotate in use, because for me, when I use a product for too long, it loses it’s effect, Hence, I’m always mixing around my options. Brands that I’ve used on my skin and did not cause rashes or breakouts to name a few includes: Shiseido, Clarins, Dior, Laniege, Belif, Jurlique, and Fresh. When I’m not between conventional brands, which is 50% of my time, my skincare consists of my special blend of natural oils and Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater.
Today, I’ll be sharing my new find, and that’s Eve by Eves. It’s a brand found by Eva Hsieh in 2001 – with the philosophy that beauty starts on the inside and radiates on the outside. Her team spent years traveling the globe, sourcing fine ingredients, choosing the most prestigious locations to create their natural, organic and luxurious beauty collection. Their beauty products ranges from skincare to make up. However, their skincare line was what caught my eye – and I’ll tell you why.
Their Lavender Cleansing Oil, is a best seller. It is gentle and does not irritate skin. It’s made with natural ingredients including lavender oil, yuzu, Japanese apricot, and Yoshino cherry blossom leaf extracts. Yuzu extract softens and hydrates, Japanese apricot brightens and conditions, cherry bIossom leaf extract calms the skin and decreases redness. It’s oily texture acts as a make up remover, as well as a cleanser without drying out my face. I chose this because of my love of oil blends and the fact that I know it usually works well with my face. And yes, it did work well for me and it was fragrance free with only the natural scent of the ingredients, which was very calming before bed time! It is also parabens and sulfates free. Also, from the ingredients list, can you guess where this is made in? Yes. Japan!
After cleansing, it’s important to use a toner to balance your skin’s pH levels. Their Floral Balancing Toner does a magnificent job at this. Once again, I chose to give this product a try, because of my love of using rose water as a toner. Others I have used includes Jurlique and Mario Badescu as I’ve previously mentioned. Eve by Eves‘ is a similar, yet enticingly different blend. It boasts witch hazel with rose water to heal and regenerate skin cells while tightening pores. It is also infused with organic edelweiss extract from the Swiss Alps – which is supposed to prevent and sooth damages caused by environmental factors such as UV rays and pollutants! It is suitable for all skin types, made with 99.2% natural ingredients, formulated without parabens or mineral oils, and is cruelty-free! Pop quiz! Guess where it’s made? Yep! It’s made in Switzerland.
The last step is to moisturize. Their Cream Eviternity is what they call, Swiss “Fountain of Youth” captured in a bottle. It claims to retain moisture for a naturally healthy and radiant complexion. The cream base is 100% natural and is derived from coconut and apricot oil leaving skin velvety smooth. It also contains Argireline, a muscle-relaxing peptide, that minimizes expression lines without the uncomfortable tightening feeling. I have yet to experience the true benefit of this, as continual use is needed and I have only used this product for about a month. However, I can say that this worked against my skin without breaking it out. I did like that it did not leave a sticky and heavy residue on my face and absorbed into my face quickly. The only thing I was not particularly fond of was the scent – nothing unnatural, but it just smelt a bit odd to me. Oh! And yes! This product is made in Switzerland as well!
Overall, I definitely liked their skincare line. I really like how much attention to detail they put into sourcing organic ingredients from their local source (ex: yuzu and cherry blossom extract from Japan, edelweiss extract from Swiss Alps, etc.). I also like that it’s fragrance, parabens, sulfates, and cruelty free. And if you know me, you know I love discovering new brands that I may not have heard of otherwise and I think Eve by Eves was definitely a good catch. It’s definitely on par with other big skincare brands out that in terms of quality and the ingredients list is all the more luxurious. In terms of long term effect, I’ll have to finish the products before I can pass my final judgment.
I hope this post was a good reminder for you all to take good care of your skin! If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to write back! I love hearing from you all! Happy Monday and cheers to a wonderful week!
