NYFW 9/17 Outfit Planning Tips!

To my dearest:

I originally wanted to do my week 1 recap for NYFW today. However, it was all too difficult curating photos and content! Schedule has been crazy and all over the place and my photographers have been too busy as well to send me things. So, let’s just talk about outfit planning JUST IN TIME for week 2 of NYFW!

The hottest topic right now, all over the net is probably the “vagina fashion show” talk. Just a few hours ago, New York Post, called the Namila SS18 collection “flash fashion.” The collection boast bejeweled genital areas and the runway walk was complimented with Disney tunes like, “Someday my Prince Will Come” and “Beauty and the Beast.” This fashion forward contrast seems fitting when you actually think about it.

While, you’re not going to sport the runway look in every day life. Many of the details are definitely going to be of upcoming hit trends. For example, the mesh see through detailing in pieces, were definitely repeats in different collections I have seen. Statement sleeves has been with us all season long since Spring 17 and the trend will continue along with statement bell bottoms.

The Namila SS18 also features the thong bodysuit that was all the rave at the Tom Ford show. Bodysuits were hot for a while already. Thong bodysuits are also not all that new, but making it’s way around, yet again.

As mentioned earlier, mesh see through is all the hype and a trend repeat in different designer collections. Designers like to dress it up this season with pearls and crystals. Oh yes, pearls. We can’t forget the pearls. Yes, it’s IN to wear pearls this season (see picture 1 of Katie Gallagher). Metallics are also shining this season, along with ribbon straps (see picture 2 of Katie Gallagher).

And ruffles? Ruffles are all the rage still as well. Props to statement sleeves!

The color deemed, “orange is the new black” this season is RED! It’s classic, but hey! Grab your pop of red now to stay on trend. And looking at hair styles, it seem’s Sailor Moon’s two buns are the way to go! And honestly, I couldn’t be happier!

As for shoes, slides and mules are definitely not going anywhere. You’ll still see statement slides and mules here, there, everywhere. Fur detailing on shoes seems to be coming and going, but it’s still trendy enough to be wearable. Sock heels type of shoes are going to be the new rave, so stock up quick!

If you’re contemplating on what styles to wear for the remaining days of NYFW, definitely grab onto these trends! You’ll be able to look so on top of everything – complete fashionista! I’m still curating my closet and making small changes! Look forward to the NYFW Look Book soon!

For now, here is a peek at my look for the Nolcha Shows! Sporting a simple combination of white ruffles and high waist denim skirt. Ruffles just dress everything up and a Gucci Marmont Belt definitely accentuates it! My little red Chanel Boy did the finishing touch though! Because why? Red is the new Black.

Hope you enjoyed this post and trend on! Write back and let me know what’s your latest favorite trend of the season!
