To my dearest:
As a native New Yorker, being busy bee has never been new to me. I would even say it’s a life style of mine. I’ve become so accustomed to it that I enjoy a face paced life and flinch when things become stagnant. Becoming a blogger was a big step for me. I faced hurdles I never would’ve thought I would have faced before.
Many see the few popular bloggers and think they have life easy — having this and that sponsored, making money, always traveling, trying new food, and enjoying life. However, that’s just one side of the coin — the glorious shiny side of the coin. The flip side of the coin is hard work and dedication.
The amount of time put in to is no joke. Pledging to become a Full Time Blogger, I started working on average 80 hours a week since my re-launch. You would see my instagram stories, staying up till 5-6am creating content and engaging on social media. When talking to other bloggers or influencers, they would all chime in and say, “that’s blog life.” We should really have a hash tag for it! But hey, although stressful, I really do enjoy what I’m doing and it is definitely rewarding. I enjoy the face paced environment, setting deadlines, reaching target goals, and completing everything in a New York minute!
I think that’s the case with many of us living in a big city, no matter what city it may be. We have a rewarding job, whatever odd job it may or may not be. However, with work and daily lives, we become so inured to the face paced life style, we stress ourselves out with time management and stretch our limits time and time again!
One day, shopping at one of my favorite stores, Rituals, I came upon their new slogan: Slow down, relaxation is only one step away. And could not help, but want to share with you all. It really hit me that, slowing down from time to time is needed. It’s like the reboot button to reset my system, so that I can be fueled to go on again!
With this campaign, I later found out that it was a celebration to their grand opening of their 11th store in NYC. Their idea of “slow down”, was teaming up with Pure Yoga to give out free yoga classes in Grand Central Terminal. I actually thought it was a brilliant idea. From that I came up with 3 ways to slow down and reset!
ONE. Yoga Detox
Yoga is a good way to destress and relax definitely. If you don’t have a gym membership and go to the gym regularly, I feel like yoga once a week definitely helps your physical health in terms of stretching out those strained muscles from sitting and working all day. It helps with mental relaxation too whether or not you zen out or not! Just breathing and having time to yourself helps and yoga is a good outlet for it. I would recommend doing a Yoga Detox of committing to a month of once a week yoga classes to start. It would be a small commitment and then you can see how much it has helped and go from there! (If you’re a New Yorker, I’ll link back in the future with a list of good yoga spots in New York.)
TWO. Good Nice Bath
Take the time to take a good bath. I’m not talking about a quick shower. Enjoying a good bath aids relaxation. Remember that Friend’s episode where Monica persuaded Chandler how awesome baths are, and how addicted he got? He tried it once and never turned back. Rituals is my favorite brand for a relaxing baths because of their quality and I really love the scent of their products!
They have an easy essentials “Mini Bath Set” for starters if you’d like to try!
I love their Ritual of Sakura Shower Oil as well.
THREE. Reset your home
Home is an important part of relaxation. Because that’s essentially your number 1 place to relax. Resetting your home will go a long way, as it will help aid in relaxation every day, though not drastically. Reset the whole aura of your home with “home fragrance”. There’s many ways to do this. You can either light a candle for extra romantic relaxation vibes, spray some mists when you step in the door, or my favorite way – use diffusers.
Rituals again, has got me covered in this area.
I love the scent of their Sakura candle, Spring candle, and Indian Rose candle.
They have spray on mists also.
But again, my number one pick would be their Sakura fragrance sticks of course!
I have attached my favorite Rituals product in my VENNDY story HERE. You can also check out my compiled list on the carousel below. Read my original post introducing VENNDY HERE. This post is not sponsored by Rituals, I am just sharing with you all my love of the brand. I genuinely hope this has helped. Hopefully this Monday, we can all commit to take the time to set our minds to slow down! Remember: Slow down, relaxation is only one step away!

A bath is a great way to unwind. I try to take them as often as I can!
It really is important to once in a while slow down and take care of yourself. These are really great tips on how to do that!
Yes a nice hit bath has always helped me to relax too! I’ve never tried yoga…maybe it’s time I start!
Full-time blogging isn’t easy, and there’s a lot of work to do, but it can be really rewarding. If you enjoy it, keep going until you achieve your goals!
I love doing yoga! It’s a great way to relax and it’s good for the body. You’ve got great hair goals btw!

These are some great sounding ways to slowly relax and unwind, I like getting involved in a good book.
Taking time to rest and reset is super important. I try to stop doing things in the evening to just sit and chill.
I am in love with your pictures! I agree sometimes life is moving too fast, I should really get back into yoga!

I really enjoyed your post. Relaxation is so important in our lives, especially with the schedule most follow today. Thanks for the tips!
I totally agree with the 3rd tip. Even just a simple change of curtain does magic to getting relaxed.
I really need to take in some of this advice, I never slow down.

Great article! I love a nice bath to reset, but currently I can’t take a bath without the water dripping through the ceiling.
I adore your blog! This is super helpful and I couldn’t agree more Yoga, baths, and rejuvenating your home space are essential!
Thanks,
Nicole

Relaxation is so important. Especially these days when we all have so much going on in our lives. Thanks for this reminder to slow down a bit!
I’m a bath fanatic, too! Such a great way to unplug after a busy day!
The bath is my perfect way to unwind, I take a book and lose myself in another world.
OMG, so true about the amount of time it really takes to create content. It all looks so simple and effortless from the outside, but takes hours of time and so much effort. A bath works wonders for me and so does setting my home right.
i love taking baths to relax and clear my mind. i also love to do yoga and read. cooking without taking pictures and not thinking about a recipe is also a way for me to relax.
I just love a great bath. I can’t do yoga, because I tend to get the giggles. But I do love to curl up with a good book. It helps clear my mind.
You are so right! With all our busy days as full time blogger, we work 2x fold than someone working 9 to 5. We deserve a break and slow things down to regian our power, and also gain fresh ideas.
I love pampering myself to try and recollect myself. Nothing says Hott Mess than a Mom on the verge. We all need to recharge!
I think we can agree on the fact that Rituals Cosmetics does have what you need to relax and unwind. I don’t have a bathtub yet but that would my dream, to relax after a hard day of work in bathtub with rituals.

I could not agree more! Fulling a blog takes so much time it is unreal. My sister in law started a blog and was enjoying it but had to stop as there just wasn’t enough hours in the day to run the blog and go to her job. Great tips for relaxation, a nice massage usually does the trick for me
I lived in San Francisco for a while and I completely know what you mean about that busy lifestyle. I love the tips you included about resetting the home! I’m going to check out those candles and spray. Blogging IS like a full-time job! People don’t realize how much work it takes to run a successful blog that gets ANY traffic! (:
I suffer with shutting my mind down at night too. I love yoga but I’ve never thought to do a yoga detox before bed. The main thing I want to try to incorporate is resetting my home for maximum sleep and rest quality. Thanks for the suggestion!
Couldn’t agree more!!! People think Bloggers live this stress free life, and I’m like, uhhhh, if only you saw everything that happens behind the scenes. haha. Definitely a necessity to take some time to unplug and relax <3

I agree , I work every day and work three jobs alongside blogging. It is intense but I like the sound of the rituals candle x
Really, need to slow down & reboot the internal settings sometimes.. There are so many things happening in life that we forget to take a pause!
Your pics are beautiful. Yoga definitely helps you slow down, I like doing meditation too.
I am so bad about taking time to slow down. I always feel like I have to do everything but I am working on that! Thanks for sharing these tips.
This is a really lovely and inspiring post! Thank you. It is so important to take time to reset. Like you, yoga is definitely one of those ways that allows me to stop, breathe, and relax. Great post!
It’s interesting because I tend to blog around all my other normal life things, rather than being a full tie blogger and nothing else! I am a full time blogger but also work so lots to do. I can toally see where you are coming from!
Enjoy the journey!
I’m juggling my job and blogging and I so agree – breaks are necessary. If I don’t force myself to take a break every once in awhile, then I end up burnt out and loose my creative energy, which in the end effects my blog!

Blogging really is a lot of hard work. When I first started my blog, I didn’t realize how much time, work, and dedication it would take. At first, I actually strayed away from my blog, but I missed it and came back knowing how much work it would be. As for slowing down, I really do need to try taking a long, relaxing bath, complete with reading a book, and drinking a glass of wine! And I’m so ready to reset my home. I just have to find time to do it. During the next several weeks for sure!
love these tips =) thanks for sharing

I feel you! I also try to ‘schedule’ myself to have a quiet time for me to calm myself down and slow down my pace. It can be tiring and we can be overwhelmed sometimes with all those (unseen) tasks as a blogger. Cheers! You look great. 🙂
I do all three of these too. Life can be so hectic sometimes that we just need to pause and meditate!! I love a good bath too!

I too can fall victim to never knowing when to relax but nothing a good warm bath won’t do! That and reading a really amazing book 😊
ah this is such a nice post. I know what you mean, I literally work on my blog every single day and this is on top of my 8 -6pm job. It’s very hard but I do love it.
Rituals is one of my most favourite brands. My bathroom literally looks like their shop. I have 3-4 products from each collection. I’m currently exploring Hammam collection.
